Family Horse Riding Experience
September 5, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 11:30 am
Welcome to the Family Horse Experience!
Alright Lonestar Dads, time to get your kids a real experience with a real horse. Bring your family out to Liberty Hill and allow your kids (and even yourself if you want to) the opportunity to learn all about horses and go for a ride on one. The teacher is Andrew’s wife (Founder of Lonestar Dads) who has been riding horses since she was 13. She has been a barrel racer her entire life and was actually given a full ride scholarship to college because of her rodeo skills in high school. Now she’s inviting you out to come learn all about horses!
How it works:
There will be two events, each for a different age range. Below you will find more information on that. Each event will be one hour long and here’s what the kids and yourself will get to learn during this event:
- Anatomy of the horse
- Caring for a horse and what all goes into it
- Proper grooming & saddling techniques along with safety procedures when interacting with a horse
- Basic riding skills such as how to sit, move, steer and speak to a horse
This is a socially distance 100% outdoor event. All gear will be sanitized in between each use, all families will maintain 6 feet of distance from each other. Two people will be able to ride at one time, while they are riding the property owner Anthony Stephens will be taking the kids around the property educating them on the ecosystem of his property. They will learn about LGD (Livestock guardian dogs), goats, chickens and the garden. This way no one is ever bored while waiting for their turn on the horse.
Children will be on the horse but led by either Candace or Andrew, so they will not be riding alone without support due to safety precautions. Each child will do one lap around the arena. Adults will ride in the round pen if they are comfortable with attempting to ride without being led. If adults want to be led, we will do that in the arena.
Note: We WILL be sharing images publicly on social media platforms, website and emails. By taking part of this, you are allowing us the rights to share your pictures.
Please ensure that anyone planning to ride the horse brings a bicycle helmet with them. We can not provide helmets due to sanitary concerns. Anyone without a helmet will not be given the opportunity to ride. This is for the safety of the rider.
Please bring closed toe shoes. No sandals. Pants highly recommended but not mandatory. Sunscreen as well.
All families must stay 6 feet apart during this event, event is also going to be outdoors. Water will be provided in individual bottles. All equipment will be sanitized between use to ensure the safety from any illness or bacteria.
Please keep in mind that this is country, which means there are always possibilities of snakes and critters. It’s extremely important to always be aware of your surroundings while on the property.
IMPORTANT: You will have to sign a liability waiver when coming onto the property waiving ourselves and the property owners from responsibility if you or your child is injured while on the property.
